I am an inhouse abap developer. We created a big extension for the CS module for which we plan to set up a version concept. We want to achieve the following goals:
- create a new version for the add-on
- provide possibility for co-existence of several versions on production system
- define workbench objects to be included in a version - multiple usages must be possible
- give the users possibility to use a determined version, maybe using sap area menus that bundle valid transactions for the version
- distinguish development for different versions, i.e. for some objects, there must be several copies belonging to various versions
- having possibility to use wb objects of an older version in a newer one
Are there any best practises for this? Did you do something similar? What was your approach?
