BAPi To Create CUstomer Master with VAT REG No

Hi,

I have a IDOC which creates an Sales Order. If the IDOC carries a VAT reg no then I need to create a customer and then I need to process the SALES IDOC.

My requirement is to create a customer with VAT REG NO through a BAPI.

Is this possible.
