Field Bline date is a required field for G/L account

I am trying to create automatic accounting entries using the bapi BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST. The bapi works fine for the entries but however when I try to pass the special G/L indicator as 'L' the Bapi returns the error message "Field Bline date is a required field for G/L account" . Now I have even passed the date to the field BLINE_DATE of internal table ACCOUNTRECEIVABLE still I keep getting this error. Am now at my wits end. Please help.
